The Viktor & Rolf fashion house is founded by Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren in 1993 and it is based in Amsterdam. The two designers met while they were still studying at the Arnhem Academy of Art and Design in the Netherlands. After graduating they moved to Paris where the first collection called Hyeres was launched in 1993. It won three prizes at the Salon Europeen des Jeunes Stylistes at the Festival International de Mode et de Photographie. In 1998 the first haute couture collection was presented. A mens line was added in 2003. Since then the Viktor & Rolf product range has been growing and today it icludes shoes, accessories, eyewear and fragrances. A part of their own lines they collaborate also with other brands such as Samsonite to produce a luggage line, with Shu Uemura for a range of couture false eyelashes, with Piper Heidsieck for the iconic unside down bottle and with the high street chain H&M which extended Viktor and Rolf's apparel to the general public.
