Prada fashion house was started in 1913 by the two brothers Mario and Martino Prada as a leathergoods shop, selling leather gooos and imported English steamer trunks and handbags. Her daughter Miuccia Prada joined the company in 1970 and took it over from her mother in 1978. Miuccia Prada released her first set of backpacks and totes in 1979. In 1989 the first pret-a-porter collection was presented. Prada's popularity increased worldwide and the fashion world noticed the clean lines, opulent fabrics and basic colours.
